A quick shout out for something to do in Colonial Williamsburg (CW) if you’re like me and haven’t done it yet or if you’re planning a vacation in the near future.
My friend Emily was in town this weekend for a 1/2 marathon and we spent Saturday afternoon in CW. Charlton’s Coffee House is across the street from the Capitol Building and is now on my must see list for visitors. It’s basically the 1770’s Starbucks. It’s a tour based visit but comes with the admission ticket. It takes about 20 minutes to go through the four rooms of the coffee house and you get a cup of hot chocolate, tea, or coffee at the end! Emily and I were lucky enough to get a private tour because there was a street program going on at the same time that had captured the attention of everyone else. We told the guide that we worked at the Bill of Rights Institute and he gave us “the trade tour” as he called it.
Make sure you stop in next time you’re in CW!
