The Graduate…

Is a movie that I started but never finished. I just couldn’t get into it. Oh well.

A week ago yesterday – Alex graduated from George Mason University with his Master’s in U.S. History. Both of our parents came out to celebrate with us. The key note speaker was the Secretary of the Smithsonians and among remarks that were felt more like a commercial for the Museums – also praised Steve Jobs’ accomplishments which felt a little bit like a slap in the face to the graduates, but such is life I guess. It’s hard to predict who will be successful and what will make them so. Here’s to hoping that a graduate degree will make Alex more successful that had he not obtained one!

Our parents stayed around of the rest of the weekend and we enjoyed some good food, some great D.C. weather and did lots of walking!

Still don’t know what’s next for us – but trying to remember daily that God knows the plans he has for us (Jeremiah 29:11) and that he clothes the lilies of the field and feeds the birds of the air (Matthew 6:26-29).
